The 2nd Guangzhou Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Small and Medium sized Enterprise Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the 2024 "Maker Guangdong" Guangzhou City Competition Finals (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition") were held on September 19, 2024 at the Guangzhou Research Institute of Xi'an Electronic Science and Technology University. This competition is hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, aiming to create a source of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, accelerate the formation of an integrated development pattern where large enterprises drive the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and small and medium-sized enterprises inject vitality into large enterprises, and build a new industrial development ecology of innovation synergy, capacity sharing, and supply chain interconnection.

The Sinology team participated in the roadshow with the "maritime situation awareness system project Based on Multi source Information Fusion Technology", fully demonstrating their scientific research and innovation capabilities in the field of maritime situation awareness to the judges, reflecting the broad development prospects and extensive application potential of the independently developed multi-source information fusion technology in the field of maritime situation awareness. After multiple rounds of competition, 268 high-quality projects stood out and won the second prize in the final.

The theme of this competition is "Maker Guangdong, Skilled Hands in South Guangdong, Building the Bay Area". Since its launch in July, it has closely focused on the overall requirements of "supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and building a modern industrial system", combined with Guangzhou's strategic deployment of "adhering to industry first and manufacturing as the city". Through extensive publicity and precise mobilization, it has attracted 268 high-quality projects from enterprises, universities, and research institutions to participate, among which specialized, refined, and new enterprises account for more than 54%.
